”What a special day today! I’m walking the same way home, only it’s daylight! Everything around me is making my thoughts shuffle, as they usually do. And then this girl passing reminds me of Coline. And then April evenings and us sitting lazy on the couch, watching movie after movie. And then that scene when Sam asks Suzy ‘So, what do you want to be when you grow up?’ and she’s like ‘I don’t know. I want to go on adventures, I think. Not get stuck in one place’.
And then here I am, being all hearts and flowers over some brief records of relocation, road trips and what not, that I’ve been collecting over the years. So of course I keep going through them over and over again and idealizing everything.”
Alexandra Cretu (b. 1991) is an emerging artist living and working in Cluj. Easily falling in love with odd places and people with peculiar stories, uses photography as a way of documenting experiences, constructing narratives and recycling memories.
